Sloe Gin: Round Two!

So, after about four or five weeks of letting my sloe gin infuse, I have taken the plunge and strained.

I just tipped the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean jug and discarded the sloes, before re-bottling the gin, which is now a fabulous colour. Always taste at this stage to see if it’s sweet enough for you – mine wasn’t, so as you’ll see in the photo, more sugar has gone in.

It’s just a case of more shaking now until the sugar dissolves and add more again if you still aren’t happy. I shall put some of the gin in prettier bottles come Christmas as I’ll be giving some as gifts.

I love bottles like this, so I’ll probably opt for these!

I still have more to do though, as I have another batch of sloe gin on the go!
